As Business Analyst within the Customers, Markets and System operations (CMS) department, you will be at the very heart of the interactions between Business and IT that are giving rise to this energy system of the future. Your central role will contribute to the company's technological advancement and will help it achieve its ambitious goals.

You will realise initiatives for one or more business services of the CMS department. Hereunder a general description of the CMS business services:
Customers: manages the relationships and contracts with our customers; develops consumer-oriented services; is responsible for invoicing and metering; also for reporting and transparency;
National Control Center (NCC): regulates the energy flows on the grid in an international context (grid management); ensures a permanent balance between production/import & consumption/export;
Grid Development (GD): identifies long-term needs and performs a cost-benefit analysis of grid development; draws up federal and regional investment plans; performs system analyses and security of supply studies;
Markets: is responsible for designing the energy market; develops products and services for efficient energy trading and a stable grid; organizes energy purchases for ancillary services; provides advice on market transparency and compliance.
As part of the implementation of IT projects in the Customers, Markets & System Department, you will be responsible for the following:
You will support the business in developing designs for new products and in driving the ongoing evolution of existing products;
You will define business expectations and model the information and the operational processes leading to the design or ongoing evolution of IT tools.
You will model the business data involved in development and evolution and accompany the development of an enterprise data warehouse;
Based on business needs, you will analyse and describe the requirements for the solution.
As a Product Owner employing agile/scrum methodology, you will establish the product backlog and define its priorities in collaboration with key project stakeholders.
You will validate the functional analysis supplied by IT to check that the proposed solution completely meets specifications.
You will validate implementations made at the end of each sprint by preparing test cases and running them.
You will coordinate the implementation of applications from different fields within cross-functional projects.
You will support the business in specifying and running software validation tests (UAT) and you will coordinate integration tests within cross-functional projects.
You will train and help the business to use tools optimally.


Job requirements

Requirements:
You have a degree in civil engineering or commercial engineering, a master's degree in science or an equivalent degree.
You have at least five years of relevant experience, or three years of experience in a similar role.
You have in-depth knowledge of business process modelling and data modelling (business information modelling).
You have in-depth knowledge of writing and validating functional specifications.
You have a thorough knowledge of agile/scrum methodology and practical experience as a Scrum Product Owner.
You have excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
You have initial professional experience in the energy field.
You have an excellent command of Dutch and/or French and a good command of English.
You can work independently and efficiently, you take initiatives and you work in a solution-oriented manner.
You have good project management skills.
You are very customer-focused, flexible and critically minded. You are a true team player.
